Date a man who reads his Bible. Date a man who not only reads the Bible but lives out the Gospel. You’ll know that he does because he always carries his Bible in his bag or pocket, he is always ready to serve others and he is full of love in His eyes.
Date a man who worships. A man who prays. How beautiful it is to see a valiant knight unhindered from showing his passion for the King. He is unashamed to cry in awe of God’s presence or be undignified to dance in the joy of the Lord. He is a warrior prince in front of the enemy but is a child when in front of his God. To see him fall on his knees in prayer, worship with tears flowing from his eyes, arms in surrender and heart in abandon — priceless.
Date a man who fears the Lord yet brave enough to conquer every battle. Date a man who is willing to lay down his pride, his own needs and his own life for the cause of Christ. He is a man who takes the lead but obeys every order of his Commander-in-chief. When wounded, he never gives up. Instead, he would come rushing to his Healer. When he is weary, be there for him but understand when he wants to be alone with his Counselor, his Comforter. He is strong but fully dependent on God; He is his ultimate source of strength, confidence, and security.
Date a man who does not take credit for his noble deeds. In humility, he gives back all the glory to God. Most of the time, he does good things in secret where only God could see him, as he expects nothing in return. How he longs to please God, not man. It is he whose goal is how to be of service, not to be served. It is he who protects and cares, a servant not a slave, a warrior not a worrier.
He is a man who is not caught up into the world’s darkness but radiates God’s light into it. He does not cheat, smoke, drink beer, date around or sleep around. He does not play with every girls’ emotions but treats them with utmost respect. He is fully aware that his body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and that he is created in the image of his Maker. He saves himself for the one God purposed him to be with. He prays for that woman and is determined to protect God’s glory in her. That woman could be you.
Date a man who is madly in love with Jesus. He should be more in love with Him than he will ever be with you. The love he will show you is an overflow of his love for God. He will put God above every thing and make Him his priority. He is a man after God’s own heart before he is after yours. He will even ask the King’s permission first before pursuing you, God’s princess.
He’ll encourage you to be better and closer with God. He will inspire you to be the Proverbs 31 woman God intended you to be. You were created for each other and together, you’ll search for the purpose of God in your relationship. You will have problems along the way, but they will only make you both stronger because you will put God at the center of your relationship.
Date a man who reads his Bible and lives it out. Better yet, marry him.
While waiting, be a woman after God’s own heart.
